Grand Theft Auto is not just defined by the gameplay, but by the music that goes with it. A GTA game doesn’t deserve the title without a kick ass soundtrack to back you up, cruising down the interstate with hundreds of cops after you. Right? Right.
Listed below are some of my favourite songs of all time, and I think they’d fit pretty well into the downtown LA, or San Andreas scene. Remember, San Andreas is based upon Los Angeles, a city famous for it’s rock and rebellious culture. Listen and enjoy.
10. Paul Oakenfold – LA Woman (The Doors Remix)
Now, I could’ve put the original version, but I think this one is the right sort of tempo for the game and will do massive favours to your adrenaline rushes.
9. Creedance Clearwater Revival – Fortunate Son
Playing on the theme of the rich and the famous, this seems like a good song, having quite the opposite approach. Lyrics such as ‘Born with a silver spoon in hand’ are a direct blow to all forms of elitism, and could well be a good little backdrop for our next protagonist.

Great songs. Keep going dude!
What about ‘Coming In The Air Tonight’ by Full Blown Rose. In my opinion, it’s a more approachable version than Phil Collins’, as it’s more ‘Rocking’.
Imagine this: The GTA V character, Adrian, has just had a car chase with guns blazing, tyres screeching, sirens wailing, and then his car is on fire, he gets out and starts to walk away from the car as the Full Blown Rose song starts to kick in, then as the guitar starts to play and the music gets heavier, the car blows up as Adrian walks away from the fire with a gun in both of his hands and the cops laying dead on the ground.
You wouldn’t get that effect with Phil Collins’ version as it’s too quiet to suit a violence-filled game like GTA.
There does need to be a reduction in Rap songs and Hip Hop songs, and more songs that are… Well… Better. Some songs by bands such as Pendulum, Knife Party, Innerpartysystem, Bring Me The Horizon, You Me At Six, Deaf Havana, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Ellie Goulding, Justice, Evanescence, The Pretty Reckless, Deadmau5, Grafix (Devotion) and Anberlin. These are all great bands, and there are many more out there, but the radio stations are getting filled up with Hip Hop & Rap songs that a very small percentage actually listen to. There should be more songs like Only Of You by All Thieves, and other songs that might interest people instead of making people turn off the radio because there are too many Rap songs.
video killed the radio star!!!!!!!
