GTA V: 5 New Things We Can't Wait To See And Do In Los Santos

5. Vantage Point Cutting

Vantage point When Rockstar first revealed there would be, for the first time ever in any Grand Theft Auto game to date, three multiple protagonists, there was a lot of confusion, even anger, from some of its fan-base. There's an age-old mantra that goes: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". For years, gamers have controlled singular protagonists, from Tommy Vercetti to Carl Johnson, and do you know what? It worked. It was fine. News then that we'd have three in GTA V wasn't met with the excitement and optimism that Rockstar probably envisaged. But, over time, we've come to learn more about this system, about the protagonists, and, after the latest gameplay video, the "character switching mechanism". The video shows this in action, as Trevor operates a helicopter, Michael, clad in black and armed with a rope and harness, rappels down the side of a skyscraper, swings back, and kicks through a window, landing inside an office block. Here, he takes some guy hostage, before asking for back-up. Next we see Franklin, armed with a sniper rifle, as he expertly picks off targets from a nearby rooftop before the trio flee the scene with hostage in tow. Now we're impressed. We will take those three protagonists, and with it more diverse missions, thank you very much. After all the furor, we find ourselves excited about the multiple protagonists deal, and can't wait to experience it first hand.
