GTA V: 5 Problems That Plague Rockstar's Awesome Epic

1. Too Many Static Objects

Gta V Michael As GTA games go, Grand Theft Auto V has by far the more immersive sandbox of any title in the series to date. The in-game universe of San Andreas is teeming with activities to complete and people to meet, while a variety of mini-games such as golf and tennis as well as the ability to visit the cinema provide that extra bit of entertainment. That being said, it still feels as though there are too many static objects. That is, pedestrians wandering around with nothing to say for themselves, and virtually every single shop and building in the game being inaccessible. I was at Vespucci Beach recently, and the outdoor gym was completely un-interactive. The promenade, though it houses a roller-coaster you can ride, also has a litany of stalls, stands and shops that you can't buy anything from. Yes, there are randomly generated side missions to discover, and "freaks" to meet, but 90% of the people who dwell in San Andreas are there for show. The level of interactivity the player has with NPC's has never, in my eyes, been bested by that afforded by Bethesda in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, where nearly every person you met had a story to tell. That's the sort of world we were hoping to discover in Rockstar's brilliant, yet occasionally lifeless Grand Theft Auto V. Are there other criticisms of GTA V that we've missed?
