GTA V: 5 Reasons Why Multiple Protagonists Is A Great Idea (And 3 Ways It Could Suck)

1. The Traditionalist Factor

GTANikko It's only been a couple of months since Rockstar Games announced that Grand Theft Auto V would feature multiple protagonists and already there has been a huge backlash to the idea Fans have taken to forums across the net to voice their discontent at the idea of three playable characters - below is just a small selection of disgruntled comments posted on the matter thus far:
"Totally ruined the game for me. f*ck you Rockstar." "I have to agree with the OP. A soundtrack during gameplay. Rappelling down the side of a building. Stopping an interrogation. Sniping from a helicopter. All sounds cool and will be fun, but not GTA." "this is more like sims where they are just your puppets and your the master (IV was hard enough with one character now you have to control 3 in every mission?). It dosent have the same connection to the character. Man they really f*cked it up." "So if I press on button I be another character. GTA isn't GTA anymore."
I can't help but finding myself agreeing with some of these points - by introducing three new characters, the game doesn't feel like a Grand Theft Auto game anymore. It feels a little alien, in actual fact. GTA has always worked quite well with just one protagonist - why change a winning formula? What do you think about the idea of multiple protagonists? Is it a good idea? Why not complete our poll below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
