GTA V: Rockstar Editor Gives You A Massive Reason To Revisit San Andreas

Previously PC-only video suite coming to PS4 and Xbox One.

Oh, Rockstar, you're just the best. Not only did the team spend years refining their latest version of Grand Theft Auto into hands-down the most impressive open-world of all time, but now they're bringing across the 'Rockstar Editor', a robust set of PC video tools that lets you make your own fan movies, mission guides, hilarious skits and everything in between, to home consoles. Personally I think 'Photo Modes' in games should be standard for anything on the current generation of hardware, as everything from Shadow of Mordor to The Last of Us and now Batman: Arkham Knight has benefitted from allowing the user to pause the action and get their 360 camera on. In addition, both the initial release of GTA V and its remaster omitted a feature from GTA IV where you could switch to the cinematic camera and flick between other angles whilst in slow-motion. Perhaps putting it back in was the intent all along? It's hard to say, but considering the extremely impressive amount of short films fans have already made using the PC version, it's about time both the PS4 and Xbox One got in on the action. Swapping filters on the lens and rotating camera angles come as standard for this sort of thing, but Rockstar went above and beyond by letting you use the game's already extensive library of songs to back your clips, use any story character or skin to star in the 'Director Mode' and much more. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=He5pZypleqE The above clip is from the PC release of the suite back in April, but hopefully everything therein will come across to PS4 and Xbox One. As of time of writing we don't have a release date, but it's tapped to be included with the game's next patch - something that should be here before year's end at the latest. What do you make of Photo Modes in games? Let us know in the comments, and what crazy thing you're going to shoot first!
