343 Industries and Microsoft have revealed a trailer for their live action series Halo: Forward Unto Dawn. This will be a five part short series of live action webisodes (that€™s episodes exclusively for the web if you didn€™t know) that will hint at the story of Halo 4. Unveiled at this year€™s Comic Con this week, the series will be set before the Covenant invasion and will follow a group of UNSC recruits training for the war between Earth and some outer colonies. The main character and leader of this group is a man by the name of Thomas Lasky, a loner who€™s cocky, arrogant and any stock personalities you can think of. Like all hero€™s he doesn€™t believe he€™s got what it takes and like every action movie cliché; his seniors feel there€™s a flicker of hope in him. After some €˜inspirational€™ scenes and an almost kiss with the appropriate mixed race love interest, his training camp is attacked by the Covenant forcing these rookies and Thomas to face a war there just not ready for. When all hope seems lost sort of, Master Chief burst through the fog like Jesus Christ himself and leads them to battle. The goal of this web series, as I said, is to explain more about the upcoming Halo 4. Whether or not this will be beneficial to the franchise remains to be seen as the acting is bloody a nightmare and if we€™re going to feel any connection to these characters at all, they€™re gonna have to pull something special out of Master Chief€™s helmet.
