Hitman Absolution: 10 Reasons It Sucks

9. Targets Dying In Cut-Scenes

While Absolution makes far more effort to be cinematic and have a storyline that actually makes sense, this is also occasionally at the expense of player agency, denying us the thrill of killing a mark ourselves, instead having it be relegated to a cut-scene. The problem is that this creates some just plain nonsensical moments; for instance, I set a mark on fire, but when it got to the cut-scene, they just had a bullet wound and were bleeding to death. How IO Interactive think this sort of thing can wash with gamers these days is anyone's guess; it's freaking stupid. Given that so much of the satisfaction in these games is of getting the enemy in your sights and murdering them, to take that away from the player is to take away a lot of what made the other games so addictive and entertaining.
