Horizon Zero Dawn: 10 Things The Sequel Must Have

9. More Varied Missions

As ludicrously entertaining as Horizon's moment-to-moment gameplay was, the game did fall into a major pitfall that ensnares so many open-world games, that the mission variety was disappointingly low, and so many quests ended up feeling like the same boring loop.

The side quests in the base game are especially rote, typically requiring the player to track some footprints, perform a scan and probably fight something somewhere in-between.

The Frozen Wilds did at least offer up slightly more diversity in this regard, but Guerrilla absolutely needs to think long and hard about each and every mission they offer up in Horizon 2, and whether they're really that interesting or fun to tackle. Too many of the original missions felt like repetitive busy-work, and in the case of side quests, straight-up chores.
