With each passing month, fans are one step closer to the long-awaited arrival of Kingdom Hearts III. Though little information has slipped through the cracks about it - let alone a release date - it's a game that many are looking forward to finally getting their hands on after years of speculation and anticipation.

Earlier this year, WhatCulture took a look at a handful of characters past and present from Disney Animation's storied history who could fit well into the next game, from Robin Hood to Baymax. With Disney's acquisition of Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars over the last decade and all the beloved characters that come with those properties, though, the question on the minds of many Kingdom Hearts fans has been whether or not they could (or should) be included in the series going forward.

Setting aside ideas of seeing Sora and the gang teaming up with The Avengers, squaring off against Darth Vader and the Empire or adventuring with Indiana Jones, let's turn the focus solely on Pixar - whose award-winning films over the last two decades have given birth to characters beloved by many the world over - to examine just a few ways how their films could fit into Kingdom Hearts III...

How: Its own world.

As fans have seen in previous Kingdom Hearts games, initial visits to Disney worlds have typically entailed a loose retelling of their films' stories, with Sora, Donald and Goofy - or other series protagonists - dropped into the middle of them to assist heroes like Aladdin, Mulan and more.

Brave could easily adopt that same template, with an active party member in Merida and a fate-changing character journey that can be adapted and reshaped to involve the gang. The unique Scotland setting could provide quite a different world of visual and musical opportunity to stand out as part of an already pretty memorable roster of worlds the series has had to offer up until now.

Throw in a final boss battle against the giant bear Mor'du and the world of Pixar's archer princess would feel right at home in the series.
