Marvel's Spider-Man: 16 Completely Pointless Details (That Will Blow Your Mind)

The most detailed game ever?

In a glorious display of what talented game studios can achieve when given an ample budget and time, Spider-Man's PS4 debut is hands-down the best superhero game since Arkham Asylum. It's the finest Spider-Man game ever, and a mighty fun open-world action adventure to boot.

Swinging physics, Spidey's quips, the pace of the story are all immaculate, but where Marvel's Spider-Man really excels - even after you've completed the campaign - is through sheer detail. NPC animations see them go about daily routines while reacting to your presence, clambering up tall towers lets you watch planes and cruise liners taking tourists to and fro - all round, it's the first time we've had a version of video game New York that genuinely feels alive.

With all that in mind, there's a lot to take in. Insomniac have thankfully peppered the map with everything from side-missions to warehouses that need clearing, chase-the-bomb time attacks to snapping photos of Black Cat's plushies.

Fundamentally, Insomniac have pulled off a true great; a game that's up there alongside the Naughty Dogs, Sony Santa Monicas and CD Projekt REDs of this world as something you simply need to get lost in.
