With all the issues that BioWare has had with Mass Effect 3 DLC you think they might have waited a while to start telling the world about their next DLC plans. However, yesterday BioWare producer Mike Gamble put a little teaser up on twitter that stated:
“Would now be a good time to talk about how we’re doing more DLC in the future? That was a trick question. We’ll save the future DLC for future chats. Don’t worry though…there’s much more,”
Now today there is news that files from yesterdays Extended Cut DLC include dialog that may indicate the next Mass Effect 3 DLC. Several lines of the dialogue revolve around a rouge Reaper named Leviathan that has apparently separated itself from the other Reapers to complete its own agenda. Here are some lines of dialog that were taken from the file (POSSIBLE SPOILERS):
“So a Reaper goes rogue and kills one of its own. That’s what we’re looking at here, right?” “No sign of Leviathan at these coordinates” and “That mining facility… everyone there [is] under Leviathan’s control.”
I had to do some digging but apparently this isn’t the first time Leviathan has been mentioned in the Mass Effect universe. Way back in Mass Effect 1 a Leviathan of Dis is mentioned to be a ancient Reaper that has been rumored to be indoctrinating people even though it is supposedly inactive.
Now all of this is still just speculation as BioWare has yet to comment on the leak. However, they have said in the past they plan to develop lots of DLC for Mass Effect 3 so this leak could be legitimate. It would also be the first playable single player DLC released for Mass Effect 3.
