Mass Effect Andromeda: 10 Impressions From The First 10 Hours

9. Combat Is Still (Mostly) Awesome

Say what you will about Andromeda, but the combat is still ludicrously entertaining for the most part. It's thrilling to head into battle largely because the AI routines are actually surprisingly intelligent, and will put up a decent fight even on Normal difficulty.

Moreover, you've given an incredible variety of abilities and weapons to stage your attack, and of course, the addition of the jetpack adds a whole new layer of verticality to combat.

While the trial sadly doesn't show off a ton of enemy variety (one wouldn't be remiss for calling most of them "generic"), at least dispatching them is plenty satisfying, and sure to be one of the game's most-lauded aspects.
