The launch trailer for Mass Effect Andromeda dropped out of the sky a little earlier than expected, giving one final push for the long-awaited follow up to the Mass Effect trilogy.
Backed to Rag’n’Bone Man’s “Human”, Bioware unleashes a blockbuster, triple A trailer to kick off its next adventure, and it certainly doesn’t disappoint. There’s so much to sink your teeth into and make the next few weeks feel like that 600 year journey in cyro-sleep.
After arriving in the Andromeda galaxy, the Pathfinder team must locate a new world for humanity and the other races of the Milky Way to call home. But a new threat in the form of the Kett stands in their way of a peaceful colonisation effort and with 20,000 souls adrift at sea with nowhere to go, the stakes just got a lot higher.
Mass Effect Andromeda arrives in your galaxy March 21st, so while we wait, let’s pick apart the launch trailer and take a look at what we can expect from this new galaxy.

22. Pre-Launch
The trailer opens with a pre-launch shot of your chosen Ryder, viewing Earth one last time from a window seat of the Hyperion, right before the Andromeda Initiative embarks on their journey into the unknown.
This is evidently the literal opening of Mass Effect Andromeda, an introduction and setup for the entire premise of the game and judging by the fact your Ryder is suited up with their helmet, before you have even chosen how to customise your character.
Then there’s a shot that we’re all familiar with. The Ark Hyperion is seen docked in some of infrastructure with a fleet of shuttles heading in its direction.
No doubt, this builds up a montage of introductory shots that will give the player full disclosure over the Andromeda Initiative, how it was set up, how it connects with the known Mass Effect universe and ultimately giving players a nostaligic moment of seeing familiar aspects before plunging you into a brand new galaxy.
