Metal Gear Solid V: 8 (Some Are Worrying) Things We Learned From Gameplay Demonstration

8. Kiefer Sutherland Is Getting Mixed Reactions

Metal Gear Solid 5 Kiefer Sutherland MGS fans went into a fit of rage when news broke out that Snake/Big Boss€™ longtime and seemingly irreplaceable voice actor, David Hayter was replaced with the iconic 24 star. The situation almost resembles the current debacle with Ben Affleck taking up the role of Batman with unwavering stances on each side. Some that have seen the footage however are just simply not impressed with Kiefer€™s delivery on lines, lacking the gravelly voice of David. Apparently, he sounds like he€™s dialing it in as if this were some brainless action spectacle not fully gripping that a MGS game€™s dialogue and story have an expected level of quality to live up to. This isn€™t a telling sign and could only reflect those 20 minutes but it€™s enough reason to feel slightly alarmed. On the other hand, some are reporting that Kiefer is bringing a more dramatic presence to the game over howling every line of dialogue. If I had to personally weigh in, some are most likely just slinging slander because it's not David Hayter; in other words it's just fanboys being fanboys. We can't make up our own minds entirely yet but the mixed reaction is at the very least something to go on.
