Microsoft In Talks With Comcast To Bring Live Television To Xbox 360

Microsoft TV would allow Xbox 360 users to sign up for Comcast television service and watch it through their console.

released in Digiday today, Microsoft is in talks with the largest cable company in the United States Comcast to bring live television to the Xbox 360. According to the rumor Microsoft would allow Xbox 360 users to sign up for Comcast television service and watch it through their console. In addition, Microsoft is also talking to Verizon Fios in hopes of working with cable providers not against them. It is not known when a deal might be announced but it might be sooner rather than later:

"One source characterized the Comcast and Verizon Xbox deals as imminent, perhaps within a month, while another said the timing was more fluid."
Here is what a Microsoft representative had to say:
""As we announced at E3, we are committed to bringing TV entertainment to Xbox around the world through partnerships with industry leading operator and content partners. We look forward to sharing more partner news in the near future, but we have nothing to announce at this time."
I honestly don't think this is the time to be getting into cable because of how bad the economy is as well as the fact more and more people are not paying for cable and using websites like Hulu.com to watch their shows. What do you think, is this something you would be interested in?
