Microsoft Purchases Splosion Man Developer Twisted Pixel

The developers behind the great Xbox Live Arcade game Splosion Man and the recent Kinect game The Gunstringer joins the Microsoft family.

Microsoftannounced today the acquisition of Twisted Pixel the developers behind the great Xbox Live Arcade game Splosion Man and the recent Kinect game The Gunstringer. I believe this will be only the third video game studio that Microsoft has purchased, the other two being Lionhead Studios and Rare. Here is Microsoft corporate vice president Phil Spencer:

"Twisted Pixel has an incredible track record of innovative, critically acclaimed, and most importantly, fun, games, Microsoft Studios is home to cutting-edge entertainment experiences, and the incredible creativity of the Twisted Pixel team will help drive further innovation around Kinect and Xbox LIVE."
Twisted Pixel CEO Michael Wilford response:
"As part of the family of Microsoft Studios we look forward to bringing even bigger and richer experiences to Xbox and Twisted Pixel fans around the world,"
Twisted Pixel is one of the best up and coming developers, I would love to see Twisted Pixel work on a full AAA game. I am surprised it has taken Microsoft this long to purchase another developer to make games exclusively for the Xbox brand. Would you like to see Twisted Pixel make a AAA game like me or continue working on Xbox Live Arcade games?
