Minecraft Creator Would Help Psychonauts 2 Get Made
Markus Notch reportedly teaming with Tim Schafer to bring the sequel to life.
Tim Schafer, the creator of the original Psychonauts game has been interested in doing a sequel for a while but has yet to find a publisher willing to move forward with the project. However, he may have finally found one in Minecraft creator Markus Notch who tweeted yesterday: "Let's make Psychonauts 2 happen." This was in response to an interview Schafer had last month saying he was interested in creating Psychonauts 2 but he was having trouble finding a publisher for the game. Schafer stated:
Ive actually pitched that to publishers several times and no-one has taken the bait so far Id have to convince someone to just give me a few million dollars. Thats all.A day after Notch stated he would be willing to help get Psychonauts 2 off the ground it may actually be happening; the two are apparently in talks about Psychonauts 2, according to reports. Notch even tweeted he was serious about the offer and Schafer even confirmed this to Kotaku by stating: I have found funding on Twitter before. In my opinion the original Psychonauts was one of the best written video games that has ever been created; not to mention the mind bending gameplay was some of the most original gameplay I have ever experienced. If you never played the original I would highly recommend it as it will probably go down as one of the best games ever created.
