Mortal Kombat 11: 10 Characters We DON'T Want To See

Test your... ability to mess up the roster?

A lot of people have the misconception that Mortal Kombat is popular because of its fatalities.

Although the gruesome finishers are a big part of what makes Mortal Kombat so unique, it's really the characters that have allowed MK to survive and thrive for so long.

From iconic series mainstays like Scorpion and Raiden to newer characters like Takeda, Mortal Kombat has introduced some pretty awesome characters over the years. With every new game in the series comes even more fighters to pick from, and improvements on older ones.

The reveal event showed a potential launch roster of 26 characters, which means we have about 19 more that we don't yet know about. Out of those 19, we're pretty sure that most of them will be returning fighters rather than new, as has been the case in previous games.

That just leaves the question - which fighters will be returning, and which will be left behind?

Mortal Kombat 11 is introducing yet another time-travel story to the series, which means that pretty much any character that has ever been in the series is fair game at this point.

That just makes it all the more interesting...

10. Stryker

Despite being much better in Mortal Kombat 9, Stryker still isn't a very interesting character.

Stryker was one of the fatalities from the end scene of Mortal Kombat 9, and one of the characters that didn't find a way to be forced back into the story of MKX. The only appearance he made in that game was a brief cutscene cameo as a revenant.

Although human characters are some of the more interesting ones in the Mortal Kombat universe, Stryker is unfortunately pretty boring and by-the-numbers. He's like Sonya Blade, but much less iconic.

That comes down to his moveset as well. In Mortal Kombat X, Cassie Cage essentially took on the same gameplay role as Stryker, using both his baton and a pair of guns. There simply isn't much that Stryker could introduce to the roster as this point.

It's always nice to have characters return in Mortal Kombat, but we think Stryker can stay out.
