Mortal Kombat X: 10 Shocking Character Omissions That Must Return

MK is nothing without some of its most legendary kombatants.

Sufficed to say, Mortal Kombat X didn't land with as much a bang as a damp squelch. Coming off 2011's exemplary ninth instalment that revolutionised the series' core combat, spruced up animations and movesets considerably (even adding all-new X-Ray moves), NetherRealm decided it'd be better to double down on releasing a solid instalment of their premiere fighting series, rather than push the boat out and risk getting lost in a sea of experimentation. Ultimately though, that backfired. MKX was serviceable enough, with very little else to offer that we couldn't do back in 2011. The story mode was disappointingly short, new character-splitting 'variations' on their abilities divided signature movesets across three options you couldn't customise or combine, and with the Season Pass insisting some of the best content was yet to come, even that ended up being packs of skins and/or character additions nobody asked for. Honestly, who out there was badgering creator Ed Boon to put Tremor in over someone like Baraka or Shang Tsung?! It's a crying shame that PC modders have done more for fan requests by unlocking story-only characters than NetherRealm have in months - but that's where this list comes in. Make any number of the following available, and MK X's roster can truly be a tenth anniversary worth remembering.
