9. 16 New Classic Teams
Apart from the All-Time Teams, NBA 2K18 will also feature 16 new (yes, sixteen new!) classic teams. As of now the list includes: 1996-97 Heat, 1998-99 Knicks, 2001-02 Kings, 2003-04 Lakers, 2005-06 Grizzlies, 2007-08 Nuggets, 2010-11 Mavericks, 2011-12 Thunder, 2012-13 Grizzlies and the 2015-16 Warriors. That's ten, with six more teams to go.
2K Sports decided to include teams that two generations of its gamers cheered for when they were younger. The reliance on the more recent teams is a good move, since the teams will be more relatable than older ones featuring great, but no longer remembered players. With rosters consisting of players that the gamers cheered for, they will be definitely more willing to relive past glory, revisit rivalries, etc.
