Why it makes sense:
The Bulls aren't going to the playoffs, let alone the NBA Finals, anytime soon and Dwyane Wade is practically untradable, so you'll just need to patiently rebuild and hope that the right prospect comes your way in the draft. That's why the Bulls need to acquire picks more than anything else. The sooner the better.
The Hawks have an even worse roster than the Bulls, so getting their pick is a good chance to start the process right away. Trading away Mirotic can hurt, but Dedmon is a good defensive player, one that'll be worth keeping after the season, once you have more cap space.
