New Game in Development From Minecraft Creator

Details for a new game from the creator of Minecraft released for an alternate reality space game.

Markus €œNotch€ Persson, best known for being the man behind Minecraft, is working on a new project known as 0x10c The game is still very much in the early development stage but Notch has described it as €˜hard sci-fi€™, the official website provides a little backstory:
In a parallel universe where the space race never ended, space travel was gaining popularity amongst corporations and rich individuals. In 1988, a brand new deep sleep cell was released, compatible with all popular 16 bit computers. Unfortunately, it used big endian, whereas the DCPU-16 specifications called for little endian. This led to a severe bug in the included drivers, causing a requested sleep of 0x0000 0000 0000 0001 years to last for 0x0001 0000 0000 0000 years. It's now the year 281 474 976 712 644 AD, and the first lost people are starting to wake up to a universe on the brink of extinction, with all remote galaxies forever lost to red shift, star formation long since ended, and massive black holes dominating the galaxy.
The site also lists a number of features that Notch wishes to include such as mining, trading, an economy engineering, abandoned ships, and for reasons unknown€ duct tape. As he did with Minecraft, he plans to release the game early and let players help shape the development of the game. He has also stated on the site that while single player will not have a subscription fee, the multiplayer may well do in order to keep the game running while the player isn€™t logged in. The cost of the game itself is still unknown. That is all that is known about the title so far, but take a look at the official site to keep updated, as Notch has posted a development schedule including what has been recently completed.
