The closer we get to reveal, the harder it is to keep secret...

Every day we move closer to the inevitable reveal of Nintendo's brand new console, the NX. Though we aren't entirely sure when that reveal is coming, the company has at least confirmed that it's going to be sometime this year – and likely E3 at the very latest.

As with all forms of media, the closer something gets to being unveiled the more difficult it is to keep a lid on leaked details. The same goes for the NX, which has seen a surge of new rumours since the beginning of the year, many of which come from leakers who have been very reliable in the past.

What we know for certain is that Nintendo needs to radically distance itself from the Wii U if it hopes to avoid a repeat scenario, and these rumours certainly back that intention up.

From revolutionary new hardware to the key components of the system's launch line-up, here are nine amazing new rumours about the Nintendo NX.

9. It's Launching With Four Wii U Remasters

One of the biggest shames regarding the Wii U's commercial failure is the amount of great games that most people haven't been able to play. The system may not have sold well, but on the whole Nintendo's usual standard has been upheld and then some, creating plenty of amazing, unique and fun gaming experiences.

Nintendo is obviously aware of the sales potential of some of these games (not to mention their longevity), and so it's rumoured that four games from the Wii U's library are set not just to be ported to the NX, but to launch alongside the console. These games are Super Smash Bros. Wii U, Super Mario Maker, Splatoon and The Legend Of Zelda Wii U.

It makes sense – Smash Bros games are a very rare thing, and with the latest entry having just released in 2014, it would be a disaster to kill it off so soon. Then there's Mario Maker, which has a huge online community and is almost guaranteed to start experimenting with DLC. The same goes for Splatoon, which has developed into one of the Big N's most popular modern franchises. And to drop Zelda Wii U exclusively on a console that's flame is fading...well, few things would be more of a disaster.
