EA announced today that they will be releasing the original Crysis on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network this October. This will be a downloadable version of the game that was best known for high end graphically being to able to run on 99% of computers at time of release. This new release of Crysis is described as "a modified and enhanced version of the award-winning single-player campaign from the original Crysis, remastered for console players using Crytek's state-of-the-art CryENGINE 3 with all new lighting, effects and other visual optimizations." Here is EA's statement on the game:

€œWe are extremely proud of what we were able to accomplish with Crysis. We set out to create a next-generation FPS and delivered a PC experience that became a benchmark for quality €“ and still is for many gamers even four years later. By bringing the single-player campaign to console, we believe we are again setting a new standard for quality in downloadable gaming.€
The remastering of the game is not the only thing different, Crysis is set to launch with full stereoscopic 3D support not that anybody cares about 3D, I just figured that at least one person out there might want to use the feature. Crysis will be available for $19.99 US or 1600 Microsoft Points. Were you one of the lucky few who was able to play the original Crysis on their PC, or were you like me whose PC burst into flames when you tried to play the game?
