Overwatch Halloween 2017: Ranking Every Legendary Skin

Is there any better than Symmetra's Dragon?

In 2016, Overwatch's Halloween event brought some of the game's absolute best skins to the table, with costumes like Witch Mercy becoming absolute classics. Now in 2017, Blizzard is trying to do the same again, adding an additional 8 legendary skins for a total of 12 altogether - and boy, are there some crackers in the bunch.

Halloween allows for some of the most creative, interesting and fun skins in the game, and Blizzard's designers have gone all out this year, capitalising on just how popular and recognisable both Overwatch and its characters therein have become. As such, it seems only fitting to give them the spotlight.

As is always the case, some skins are better than others, but almost all of them are fantastic to look at, with Blizzard proving they've got a real eye for detail. The crazed Dr. Junkenstein has returned with some new minions and the nights are getting darker, but when it comes to any roster full of fan-favourites and potentially overlooked underdogs, it's time to check out every Halloween legendary skin so far and decide which are the spookiest (or best - that works too!).

12. Totally 80's Zarya

Poor, poor Zarya - the character is ruthlessly mocked by the Overwatch community for Blizzard's apparent lack of good skin ideas for her. Even game director Jeff Kaplan stated that this particular skin was the "most polarising" they've come up with yet.

That's not to say it's bad, however - it's just not as appealing as the rest of the Halloween skins. There are some nice details though, like the streak of colour running through Zarya's hair (and her hair itself is cool too), her cool neon gloves and the animated equaliser bars playing on her gun. It doesn't really riff on the horror vibe that the other skins go for, and that helps it stand out among the crowd.

Perhaps Zarya's skin will appeal more to those who grew up in the 80's, but for now, it's bottom of the pack. You'll get yours one day, Zarya!
