Pokémon: 20 Creepiest Pokédex Entries Ever

Why are there so many Pokémon intent on killing children?!

When Pokémon was first introduced all those years ago, there were just 151 of the titular monsters. While this may have seemed like a lot back then, it is nothing compared to the almost 900 creatures the game boasts today.

Thankfully, on your travels through any Pokémon game, from Kanto to Galar, you have a handy Pokédex to help you keep track of every pocket monster you encounter. This little device details type, size, ability, and of course, a little summary telling you about the nature of the Pokémon in general.

Lots of these are fun little facts like how much Snorlax has to eat each day, or how Zangoose and Seviper are natural enemies. Some however, take a trip down a dark road. Much darker than is reasonable for what is supposedly a kids' adventure game.

With Pokémon out there that stalk humans as prey, literally accidentally kill their trainers with affection, and abduct children for fun, what kind of parents would let their ten year old child out into the world with nothing but a level five Bulbasaur?!

20. Banette

Pokédex entry from Pokémon Emerald – “An abandoned plush doll became this Pokémon. They are said to live in garbage dumps and wander about in search of the children that threw them away.”

So, Banette basically shares an origin story with Lotso from Toy Story 3... who knew? As creepy as it is to picture a possessed toy with powers hunting down a child for revenge, it does raise a few questions. Banette is not a unique Pokemon, there is way more than one in the world. Does this happen to every toy any child throws out, or does it have to be a specific circumstance? And since Banette is an evolved Pokémon, where does Shuppet fit into all this?
