Pokémon Sun & Moon: 10 Leaked Rumours You’re Not Supposed To Know

There have been plenty of trailers, but here's what you might have missed...

As far as the build up to a new Pokémon game goes, the months preceding the release of Sun & Moon have been fairly unique. For a start, the impending arrival of the new games is almost in danger of being overshadowed by the immense popularity of the recently released mobile game, Pokémon Go.

But aside from this massive distraction, we've actually been treated to a surprisingly thorough look at what the new generation games are going to offer. Although fans are the best part of four months away from release at time of writing, these new trailers and promotional features are coming thick and fast.

And, as with any new game, the things that eager fans have been able to read from between the lines of each reveal, are just as fascinating as the new trailers themselves. Nintendo may be giving us a veritable feast of new information on what to expect from Pokémon Sun & Moon, but the theories and rumours about what each new tease represents are just as important and intriguing.

Prying eyes have been scouring the trailers and images for weeks, so join me as I talk through 10 of Pokémon Sun & Moon's leaked rumours that you aren't supposed to know just yet...

10. Lillie Will Be The Champion

Pokemon Lillie
The Pokémon Company

Lillie was introduced in one of the earliest trailers for Pokémon Sun & Moon, immediately described as the "mysterious" assistant to the region's professor. She's said to be shy and an avid reader, while it's also been suggested that she dislikes the idea of Pokémon battling.

Despite this final sentiment, many believe that Lillie will actually prove herself to be a mightily powerful trainer anyway. In fact, there are several suggestions that Lillie will actually be the region's Champion and that players will eventually face her in battle for the first time after beating the Elite Four.

It's not completely out of character for a Pokémon game to have someone who's not a fan of battling, prove to be a strong trainer; in X & Y the 3,000 year old king AZ eventually enters a battle to experience the how the love between the player and their Pokémon.

Lillie may not seem like the obvious choice for a Champion based on what we know so far, but subverting our expectations of characters is something that the series has been doing a lot recently.
