PS5: Predicting Every Launch Video Game

11. The Last Of Us Factions

Likelihood: 50%

We know now that The Last of Us Part 2 is being primed as the swan song of the PS4, officially dropping February next year, which rules it out of being a PS5 game outside of backwards compatibility.

That doesn't mean there won't be a Last of Us game to launch alongside the next Playstation though. Naughty Dog have revealed that Part 2 won't ship with a multiplayer component like the original game, but that's only because their plans are much more ambitious.

It's not confirmed, but considering the way they've discussed multiplayer, we know a project is coming in some form, and that could end up being a standalone version of Factions that gets to shine and not be overshadowed by the single-player of Part 2, which is admittedly the element most players are looking forward to.

The original Factions could easily sustain its own game - especially if the meta storytelling element of the multiplayer is expanded - and it would be a great way to give players something familiar yet new with the PS5.
