Red Dead Redemption 2 Wishlist: 9 Features We Want To See

Dominating the West with multiplayer heists and train robberies? Hell yes.

Red Dead Redemption 2 being delayed until next year is one of the biggest disappointments of 2017 so far. Sure, delays almost definitely make games better in the long term, but it was still deflating to see one the most anticipated releases of the decade slip even further into the future.

In the meantime, the delay has allowed speculation to run rampant over what fans of Rockstar's epic Western series want to see. It will be nearly seven years since the release of Red Dead Redemption by the time Red Dead 2 hits shelves, and video games - along with the Rockstar itself - have changed massively in the intervening years.

Also with the amount of great open-world games on the market today, if RDR 2 wants to meet fan expectations in 2018 then it's got to be even bigger and better than everything that's come before it. Fortunately there's a strong foundation to build upon, and fans have been more than vocal about what they want to see.

The first Red Dead Redemption is a masterpiece for what it accomplished all those years ago, but there's some specific features and changes that Rockstar needs to add to ensure that this sequel turns out even better than the last.

We already know that Red Dead Redemption 2 is going to focus on seven outlaws, but it hasn't been confirmed yet whether or not the game is going to follow GTA V's approach of having more than one playable protagonist.

However you can't imagine that Rockstar would throw away a mechanic that brought them so much success with GTA V (especially considering the expanded cast), and if it does make a return, then letting real human players control the other playable characters in the game would be the feature's most logical evolution.

GTA Online has already shown how much fun there is to be had when working together and completing missions in Rockstar's giant open worlds, so letting them buddy up in the single-player as well would be a natural progression of the developer's increasing focus on online connectivity.
