Red Fury: 6 Most Evil Gingers From Gaming History

5. Akuma

First introduced in Super Street Fighter II Turbo as a secret character and hidden boss, flame-haired Akuma is presented as the younger brother of Gouken, sensie of Ryu and Ken, who the popular Akuma detests for not giving in to the dark side of their arts, and particularly for not allowing Ryu to do the same and reach his full potential. Depending on how you view Akuma, he's either Evil Incarnate and a literal demon (a handy translation of his name), or he is simply a hugely focused warrior, intent only on progressing his skills through combat and defeating worthy opponents. But the fact that he does so while calling himself a "denizen of Hell," with a special move that translates as "Instant Hell Murder" and without the usual moral or emotional bond to his opponent makes him a fair inclusion in this list. He is effectively Street Fighter's Darth Vader, attempting to take his adoptive nephew Ryu to the dark side, clashing with his brother over the different appeals of the dark and light sides of the arts, and possessing a thirst for death that makes him a genuinely evil foe, even if he appears to mostly stick to the warrior's code.
