Resident Evil 3: 10 Major CHANGES From The Original

9. Sound Is A Gameplay Mechanic

As mentioned earlier, Nemesis now tracks you by the sounds you make, much as Mr X did in parts of the Resident Evil 2 remake. The developers have gone one step further than that, though. According to recent interviews, players will have to pay careful attention to the sounds in their environment if they want to survive.

While we don't know exactly what that means, and likely won't find out until the game or a demo of it releases, we can hazard a few educated guesses.

As mentioned earlier, Nemesis has new ways to track you, and it's likely that the buzz of a drone or whir of a security camera might alert you to one of these, allowing you to hopefully take care of it before the big guy bursts through a wall right next to you.

Then there are the enemies. Thanks to the good dozen or so games set in Racoon City, we know that there are plenty of beasties roaming around in this era that traverse the environment in unusual ways, possibly escaping players' notice until it's too late. And that's without mentioning those who can camouflage themselves.

Keeping an open ear may well be the difference between life and death in Nemesis.

After hearing that you are what you eat, Mik took a good hard look at his diet and realised he might just be a szechuan spare rib alongside prawn fried rice.
