Resident Evil 6: Where Do We Go From Here?

Maybe we're jumping the gun a little, but we've not been able to stop ourselves from considering the possibilities.

Remember the mansion? It was a big place, with a hell of an ass on it (I€™m referring to the hidden Lab of course) yet looking back, it was such an intimate setting by the subsequent standards of the Resident Evil franchise. And it seemed at the time like if we just got to the end of the story, if we just defeated whatever nasty was waiting for us at the heart of the hidden laboratory, then we€™d avert the little undead problem all together. How wrong we were! Each game since the original Resident Evil was released in March 1996 has upped the scope of the potential apocalypse: from the mansion; to the surrounding streets; to the city; even to foreign lands in the last two installments. Umbrella Corporation has certainly been busy! And now he undead threat is deep into mainstream America and Resident Evil 6, which takes place both on American and Chinese shores, seems to illustrate exactly how bleak global security is looking in the Resi world. So what's next? What else can Capcom possibly throw at us? Maybe we're jumping the gun a little, but we've not been able to stop ourselves from considering the possibilities. So without much more from yours truly, let's get right to it as we explore what might be next for the iconic franchise.

Needs More Albert

A nasty bastard since the moment we met him in the original Resident Evil and he€™s only getting nastier as time goes by, Albert Wesker is basically the main force of antagonism in the entire franchise. He was human once, but after sampling the Prototype Progenator Virus he was gifted with super-human powers. Sure he€™s listed on the Resident Evil wiki page as €˜deceased€™ but we all know that hasn€™t stopped him in the past. Although we witnessed him meet a pretty overkill €˜end€™ in Resident Evil 5, I€™ll be mildly surprised if he doesn€™t show up in some capacity in Resident Evil 6 and even more surprised, bordering on shocked if we€™ve actually seen the back of him. In our opinion, whenever the last Resident Evil game might be, whether it€™s 7, 8, 9 or 20 we€™re of the firm belief that Albert Wesker will feature in it.
