10. Laid To Rest
In the gloomy city of Morthal is a burnt down home, that has been all but razed to the ground. What could have happened here? A dragon attack? That's for you to find out. After doing some digging, you discover that two people perished in the fire, Hroggar's daughter Helgi and his wife. The townsfolk suspect arson, so that Hroggar could be with another woman, Alva. We soon discover that is not the case however, and after a ghostly encounter with the spirit of Helgi, it soon becomes apparent that Alva, a master vampire, is in love with Hroggar and wants him for herself. She turned Laelette, a citizen of Morthal, into a vampire too, and made her her own personal slave. Ordered by Alva to burn down Hroggar's home and kill his wife and child so that Alva could steal Hroggar, Laelette does the deed and Helgi is burned to death. The mission culminates with a group of angry villagers led by the Dragonborn making a beeline for Alva's vampire den, but all are too scared to enter in the end, so it is up to you to put an end to the wicked Alva.
