Sony Looking To Launch A 'Playstation 4.5'?

Y'know how you buy a phone every few years? Well...

Sony are reportedly looking to launch an upgraded version of the PlayStation 4, which will be able to run games at 4K resolution. According to Kotaku, the PS4.5 will have an upgraded graphics processing unit which will be able to support high-end 4K resolution gaming and resource-heavy games that will be supported by the PlayStation VR, which is set to be launched in October. It is not known whether the new model will come in the form of an entirely new console or as a bolted-on upgrade to the current PS4, and it remains that the name 'PlayStation 4.5' may just be a nickname at this stage, as Kotaku's source noted it may not even be released this year. The proposed PS4.5 could give Sony a huge boost as far too many triple-A games have launched in less than desirable states across the last few years, as well as preparing them for the processor onslaught that's about to be virtual reality gaming. The news comes after Microsoft also suggested that the Xbox One could have "new hardware capability" in the near future, but when contacted by Kotaku, Sony refused to comment on the alleged PS 4.5, saying they "Cannot comment on rumours or speculation." Would you shell out the additional cash for an upgrade to your PS4, or should the console stay in its launch state for the entire hardware cycle? Let us know in the comments!
