According to the Paul Gale Network, Sony are working on a surprise PlayStation 3 game. While the site has refused to give away the game’s title, developer, publisher, or even how they found out this information, the concept of what they are suggesting is certainly mouth-watering. Ready for it?
Sony are working on a fighting game in the style of Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros!
For the uninitiated (shame on you), Smash Bros is a 2D beat-’em-up featuring the most popular characters from the Nintendo universe, who then slug it out among themselves. In Sony’s version, we can apparently expect colourful characters such as Kratos, Sly Cooper, Nathan Drake, Fat Princess, Parappa, Sweet Tooth, and Killzone’s Rico. Some of the stages are said to include Misty Island from Jak & Daxter and a Little Big Planet-style stage which is littered with weird and wonderful objects.
Paul Gale is currently a writer for bitmob.com, and has featured in plenty of video-game shows, publications and websites. A regular at major gaming events such as E3, he claims to be well connected in the gaming industry. He wouldn’t lie about an amazing idea like this, would he?

Expect Ratchet & Clank to also be there. Nariko too perhaps, I don’t want barrel-scraping though and end up with minor characters from a PSN game. I know Sony don’t have as many first party titles as Nintendo, so hopefully they can bring in outsiders like Solid Snake (Nintendo used him for SSBB and his last game was Sony PS3 exclusive), Raiden, Crash Bandicoot (seriously needs to be there), Spyro the Dragon, Dante, Lara Croft.
I definitely wanna c some Dante from DMC and jack. As for stages, they don’t have to be exactly like the games their from, more like tactical stages with a themed background like in melee and brawl. I don’t wanna c a bunch of newbies from recent games, I think they should pick characters from series that remained mostly loyal, like dmc and final fantasy characters from 7 or 8 (no one likes lightning…). It would be a big disappointment If most of their characters were from ps3 only games that didn’t exist during ps2, especially since most of them are real shoot em up games so everyone would be pulling akimbo pistols.
Ratchet, Clank, Jak, Daxter, Green Sage, Mr. Zurkon, Classic Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, Dingodile, Hunter the cheetah, Ripto, Cortex, Nathan Drake, Cole, Ty the Tasmanian Tiger, Sly Cooper, Sackboy, Lara Croft, Croc, Rayman, Captain Qwark, Dr. Nefarious, Kay, and Gex the gecko. I may have just named off an entire roster right there.
