Star Wars Battlefront: 10 Burning Questions EA Need To Answer

On-rails X-Wing sections... seriously?

Following the pandemonium that greeted the release of the second teaser trailer, it's been impossible to escape the resurgent buzz about all things Star Wars. Unless of course you literally live in a cave on Endor, in which case you've only had to put up with an underlying level of nostalgia for it from the Ewok Tourist Board since 1983. Regardless, the countdown is now on to the biggest cinematic event since, well, probably the release of The Phantom Menace, but the less said about that the better. Between now and December we're set for an unending stream of gossip, news, interviews, promotion, speculation and, best of all, tie-in products. While you might not be that excited about getting your hands on a BB-8 desk tidy, Star Wars Battlefront should do more to get your juices flowing. Conspicuous by its absence from the last generation of major consoles, the Battlefront series was an ambitious if not brilliantly executed attempt to latch the Star Wars universe onto the booming FPS genre. While it's unlikely to fondly grace any nostalgic lists about the best Playstation 2 or XBox games, it was a concept that was definitely overdue another shot. However the news that EA had picked up the rights to revive the series was met more with the frozen carbonite of worry than the exploding Death Star of joy, as the company's track record in this particular area is, at best, concerning. They have time on their side though, with the game not scheduled for release until November, but between now and then there are a few questions they need to answer to put fan's minds at rest.
