Star Wars Battlefront 2's open beta has been wowing and confounding players in equal measure this past weekend, and it's safe to say that the game is shaping up to be much more divisive than most surely expected a few months ago.
With the surprisingly large beta giving fans a decent slice of the game to test out for themselves, it's clear that DICE's latest is neither a cynical carbon copy of their 2015 smash hit nor the revelatory apology for its lacking features many were hoping for.
It seems to be a game rife with underwhelming and frustrating elements, even if its basic, thrilling appeal to Star Wars fans is pretty much undeniable.
Battlefront 2 is going to sell like hotcakes regardless, but this beta has surely left many pretty iffy and on-the-fence about how the final product's going to turn out, especially with barely a month left until it hits stores.
While it's certainly advisable to wait for reviews before loosening your purse strings for any EA game, it's also worth keeping in mind everything we've already learned from the beta...
