It was over three years ago that we first heard news that Universal Studios Japan would be the first of Universal's parks to receive a Super Nintendo World. We now know a little bit more of what guests will experience when they walk through the doors later this year.

Super Nintendo World will be an incredibly immersive land that will feature many of Nintendo's most famous characters.

This new land will be one of the most immersive that Universal have ever created, so much so that "guests will feel as if they are playing inside their favourite Nintendo video games – in real life"

When you enter Super Nintendo World you'll be able to get a Power Up Band which alongside a special app will allow guests to interact with the land. You can also get different Power Up Bands for the different characters, incase you're more of a Luigi.

You'll use the wearable device to collect digital coins, just like Mario. There'll even be Question Boxes for you to hit! Guests will be able to compete against others in their party and take on the rest of the guests in the park. There will also be "Key Challenges" that you can complete, allowing you to collect keys and unlock "additional gameplay opportunities, including “Boss Battles” against various enemy characters."

Thierry Coup, the Senior Vice President, Chief Creative Officer, Universal Creative has also confirmed what guests can expect when they enter Super Nintendo World. Get ready to head into the Mushroom Kingdom and take part in real life Mario Kart. You can also expect to see Peach's Castle and Bowser's Castle.

The campaign begins with a music video featuring music superstars Charlie XCX and Galantis, "We Are Born To Play". The new video even showcases some of the interactive elements that you'll get to enjoy once you step into the park this summer.

Universal Studios Japan will be the first theme park to be getting a Super Nintendo World. Universal have also confirmed that their parks in Orlando, Los Angeles and Singapore will also be getting their own versions.
