Behold, true believers!
Beenox is launching their brand new The Amazing Spider-Man title today in the US. While Europe will need to wait until the 29th, it may serve as a nice testing ground to see whether or not this version of Spider-Man can swing with grace.
The game takes place directly after the events of the movie, with the same name, that is launching in little under a week. Players will assume the role of Peter Parker, aka “Web Head”, as he continues to grow into the superhero that he is destined to become. You will fight a wide array of genetically altered super villains such as the Rhino and Iguana. That isn’t to say there won’t be any smaller fish to string up in webbing. Swinging through the city will spawn a wide variety of crimes for Spidey to stop. Are you up for the challenge? When in doubt just remember what Uncle Ben said, “With great power, comes great responsibility.”
- Web Rush – Spidey can now quickly execute a wide arrange of moves with incomparable precision. With the press of a button you will be able to select specific destinations within the environment and watch as Spider-Man uses his agility and speed to free-run his way to that exact spot. Combine this with the newly improved web-slinging, and you are a force to be reckoned with.
- Web Slinging Free-Roam Goodness – New York City is at your fingertips. Swing your way through an open city, as you use your Spider Sense to detect crimes in progress. Side Missions range from ending police pursuits to rescuing civilians assaulted by thugs. Between free-roam and the linear story progression there’s enough to keep you busy for a long time.
- Super Villain Powerhouse – The Amazing Spider-Man presents fans with the opportunity to square off against classic super villains re-imagined in a completely new way. They will certainly test your skill and grace as the wall-crawler once you face off against some of the larger than life enemies. Spidey is in a rush to save Manhattan, and each new villain you defeat brings you one step closer.
