Next Call Of Duty To Be Set In Space

Houston do we have a problem?

From WWII in World at War, to the not so distant future in Advanced Warfare, the Call of Duty series has seen many iterations in the past few years. But it's with a slightly different flavour that the inevitable yearly COD coverage can officially begin, with the revelation that the next instalment in the series will be set in space. According to reports from Shinobi, the decision has been taken to place the bulk of the combat in outer-space, with the story revolving around two warring factions of the future. While this represents a bold new step in the series, hardcore fans will recall that it's not the franchise's first foray into the stars, with the opening of Call of Duty Ghosts also being set in the recesses of space. The game will not be a direct sequel of any previous Call of Duties either, instead standing alone and possibly triggering a new line of COD games. However developers Infinity Ward will be wary of pushing the game too hard, with their last attempt at a new Call of Duty series, Ghosts, being met with a very mixed reaction. News on the release date is also awaited, however early indicators are that it will launch on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 this November to compete with Battlefield 5's rumoured holiday release date.
