4. Wildlife
We’ve seen that Lara can explore the fantastic looking island and hunt a selection of animals which, is a great addition in creating an immersive world. However, since games like Red Dead Redemption and notably Far Cry 3 (in the beginning) have done such excellent jobs with their take on wildlife that I’m worried that Tomb Raider won’t make the hurdle. Gamers are going to expect more than just dears and rabbits mountaineering, and will expect to see lethal predators stalking said dears and rabbits and even, Lara herself.
We’ve seen a short glimpse of a rain soaked wolf and that gives me hope. Even so, hopefully we won’t have Far Cry 3’s latter half of the game’s problem, were you have such an arsenal of weaponry that all the animals you feared are nothing more that bags of meat on four legs.

It is an origin story, the point is that Lara Croft is the ‘Tomb Raider’ yet. They are trying to show what shaped her formative years and turned her into the Lara of later games.

I have been playing Tomb Raider since 96 and I have no interest in this new game. Tomb Raider was about exploring and somehow this game is rated 18 and above? Am I playing Resident Evil or something? Plus just as you mentioned this chick can’t and never will be Lara Croft.
I’m willing to bet all them moments where she is calling for help or the man is telling her to jump the gap happen in the first third of the game. By the end she’ll be the strong Lara Croft everyone knows. It’s called a character arc, you tit.
I very aware of what character arc is however, as I explain; it seems far too outlandish. Lara must have be prepared for some for isolation and survival wanted to be an explorer. Of course, not to this level, but she seems like she has no idea what shes doing.

Hey, maybe they’re turning Tombraider into an survival/horror/adventure game.. like the original Resident Evil. I’d totally play that…
I honensty can’t wait for this game. It looks really good, and everything I’ve read and seen is good in my opinion. I’ve always thought of a darker story to Tomb Raider, and what better way to do it than an Origin Story.
