Watch Halo 5: Guardians' Incredible Opening Cinematic

Someone's been watching The Avengers.

When you think about it, it was only a matter of time before the group-focussed Halo 5: Guardians started taking influence from the world-dominating Marvel superhero films, or in particular, The Avengers. As such, come the point Microsoft and 343 Industries needed to land with a rapturous bang - and one large enough to remind everyone "Hey, Halo 5's still coming this year!" - they elected to put out what appears to be at least the entire opening cinematic from Guardians. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44oJi5w2Wjc Starring Nathan Fillion and Steve Downes as two of the titular Guardians (named Fireteam Osiris), alongside the as-yet fairly mysterious Jameson Locke, played by Ike Amadi as the Spartan who'll be going up against Master Chief. Considering how potentially risky Halo 4's narrative could've been had it not been handled with care, delving into the machinations of the Chief's purpose as a killing machine paid dividends in proving the fourth instalment (with its new developers) could bring something new to the table. 343 look to be continuing that streak with Guardians, and as they've talked multiple times about continuing Halo both without numbers and without the Master Chief, is this the trailer that proves the lore and overall aesthetic of the world is interesting enough to stand on its own? Let us know in the comments what you think of the trailer, and how you think the story's going to pan out!
