What Your Favourite Games Console Says About You

Xbox 360 €“ The Player

ps3vsxbox360 Also known as €˜the social gamer,€™ The Player is someone who enjoys games enough to play them on a regular basis, yet tends to stick with the same one or two franchises they can play online with their friends instead of experimenting across a range of potentially more interesting titles. This often means Xbox fans spend a lot less money on video games than those who prefer other consoles, as their prime reason for gaming is often socialisation opposed to the escapism and solo enjoyment for which most true gamers strive. If you are a 360 guy or gal, chances are you spend a lot more time and money going out drinking with friends or playing football than you do in the world of dragons and zombies, usually resulting in you having more friends than other types of gamers but also being broke more often than not. This is mirrored in the sales of The Official Xbox Magazine, which sells much fewer copies than both The Official PlayStation Magazine and The Official Nintendo Magazine, as their audience is much less inclined to have any real interest in the industry or profuse desire to frequently buy new games. You€™re also unlikely to have gone to university and feel confident enough to threaten, shout, and swear at strangers over a headpiece, possibly in an attempt to feel emasculated. Oh, and you€™re probably a guy. That€™s not sexism talking, girl gamers just tend to prefer the PS3 or Steam, probably because of the lower number of rape jokes that screamed at them from intellectually challenged 14 year olds.
