Why The Xbox Series X Is Actually A PC

Mini, Modular Gaming PCs Are Becoming More Prominent

CES 2020 in Las Vegas is underway at the very time of writing. One recurring product at the show are mini gaming PCs with a semi-modular architecture in mind. Not only do these products have a small footprint, they're perfect for users not necessarily adverse in spec'ing their own machines, let alone building them.

These mini PCs are a spiritual successor of sorts to the Steam Machines of 2015, and both Intel and Razer have been showing off their new hardware in the forms of the Ghost Canyon NUC, and Tomahawk respectively.

Since they're much simpler PCs in terms of their upgradability, they open up a huge market to those who aren't as adverse with PC hardware, but allow them to reap the rewards of having a mid to high-end gaming PC.

The Xbox Series X could indeed tick a similar box, but introduce it to a huge, already-establish customer base of previous Xbox owners.
