7. Low Sales
The unfortuante news broke this morning that last month, the Wii U managed to shift a whopping 55,000 units in North America, a terrible figure given that expectations were that it would begin to pick up momentum in the new year after a slower than expected launch. What's most embarrassing is that even the current-gen consoles, such as Microsoft's Xbox 360, managed to shift 280,000 units last month in the same region, causing the Wii U's meagre sales to seem even more horrendous. Of course, the naff marketing ties directly into these troubling sales figures, and short of Nintendo altering their marketing strategy severely, there's likely going to be little way to remedy this in the near-future, especially given the current lack of AAA titles available for the platform. Ironically, it seems that Nintendo's enormous success in the last generation of gaming is to turn to massive failure if the current trend continues. We all remember how the PS3 got off to a rickety start before managing to catch up with other systems, but there's one key reason why I doubt this will happen for the Wii U...
