World Of Warcraft Classic: 5 Reasons It Might Fail (And Why It Won't)

3. Grinding

Admittedly, this is probably one of the only common and legitimate arguments against Classic.

People just don't consider it the norm anymore. Spending months levelling to hit the level cap, might be tedious to people who just want to slay the biggest, baddest dragon in Azeroth, all within a few weeks of logging in.

It's true, if you value complex boss mechanics, fast-paced combat with a bunch of buttons to press over immersion and deep sense of community, this game is simply not for you.

Why That Doesn't Matter:

Even though there are a lot of people turned off by the idea of certain things taking longer to accomplish, there are also people who have been waiting years for an experience like this.

If you're one of the ones who despise the grindy nature of old-school MMO's, and cringe when you hear it's going to take you several months of levelling just to get to max level - there's a chance you won't feel that way if you give it a shot.

Simply taking the "months to level" statement at face value, and in the context of the modern game, sounds like the worst experience of all time.

But it's not the modern game, is it? Classic is all about "The Journey". You might be pleasantly surprised, just how much of a non factor grinding is, when your goal isn't just to tick something off the checklist.
