WWE 12 Roster Revealed, THQ Want You To Vote John Cena or The Rock For Cover

THQ have unveiled their much anticipated revamp of the wrestling genre with WWE 12, the successor to the long-stagnate Smackdown vs. Raw series that is promised to be 'bigger, badder and better' than before.

This weekend before WWE SummerSlam, THQ unveiled their much anticipated revamp of the wrestling gaming genre with WWE 12, the successor to the long-stagnate Smackdown vs. Raw series that is promised to be 'bigger, badder and better' than before. Here's how they put it;
FINALLY ... the WWE experience you've been demanding has arrived! THQ's flagship franchise in the WWE video game portfolio is reborn, delivering a completely rebuilt evolution of every aspect of the wrestling superstar experience. With new Predator Technology, an overhauled gameplay experience and new broadcast TV presentation that promises the most fluid, dynamic, authentic and action-packed WWE simulation experience to date, WWE '12 gives you more control over WWE than ever before.
First up on August 12th, IGN posted the following video of a full CM Punk vs. John Cena match, along with full commentary, to showcase the new gameplay; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RKvbWn4_HFE For a old timer wrestling gamer who thinks No Mercy is the greatest game in the history of the genre, I like that this game looks to be moving back to the slower paced, cerebral style gameplay of the well remembered Nintendo game, rather than the hyperactive, flashy pace we've seen for way too long now. Soon after the reveal of the footage, 80% of the characters involved in the game were revealed and personally I'm happy that I could have a Legion of Doom vs. Demolition match-up!!! WWE Superstars Alberto Del Rio, Alex Riley, Big Show, Christian, CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Daniel Bryan, David Otunga, Dolph Ziggler, Drew McIntyre, Evan Bourne, Ezekiel Jackson, Goldust, Heath Slater, Husky Harris, Jack Swagger, John Cena, John Morrison, Justin Gabriel, Kane, Kofi Kingston, Mark Henry, Mason Ryan, Michael McGillicutty, Mr. McMahon, R-Truth, Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio, Santino Marella, Sheamus, Sin Cara, Ted DiBiase, The Miz, Triple H, Tyson Kidd, Undertaker, Wade Barrett, William Regal, Yoshi Tatsu, Zack Ryder WWE Divas Beth Phoenix, Eve, Kelly Kelly, Layla, Maryse, Michelle McCool, Natalya Legends Animal, Arn Anderson, Axe, Booker T, Eddie Guerrero, Edge, Hawk, Kevin Nash, Ricky Steamboat, Smash, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, Vader DLC Jerry €œThe King€ Lawler Presumably the likes of Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, Randy Savage and can we hope.... Doink the Clown (?)... will be downloadable characters in the future. And finally, THQ is currently hosting a contest for fans to decide who will grace the cover of the Collector's Edition of the game with The Rock (for "The People's Edition") and John Cena (for "The Champ's Edition) the two choices. At the time of writing The Rock is kicking Cena's ass with 8,000 vs. 3,000 and you can go ahead and vote here http://www.facebook.com/wwegames. Clever way to further build up The Rock/Cena encounter at next year's Wrestlemania! The bog-standard retail version of the game has a Randy Orton cover; WWE 12 is due November 5th on PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii.
