WWE 2K14: 6 Adjustments From WWE 13 That Must Be Made

3. Revamp Match AI

wwe 13 shaemus Let me paint everyone a picture here that we have all probably seen before. Shaemus (AI) has Miz (the user) in a groggy state. He hits punch-after-punch, leaving Miz lying motionless on the canvass. Shaemus picks up Miz and proceeds to hit him with White Noise, his signature move, followed by a pin attempt. Miz kicks out at two, as the intensity of the crowd is amplified by the kick out. Shaemus gets up from the pin attempt and---leaves the ring to take the monitors off the announce table?...WHY! The match doesn't even have the No DQ stipulation! Just hit your finisher and go for the pin!! SIDE NOTE: Has anyone actually had the AI hit a move on the announce table after they tear off the monitors? The AI has all the momentum in the world, and for whatever reason, they decide that hitting a move through the announce table is more important than simply hitting their finisher. Again I ask, why? It's pretty clear that THQ wanted to show off the new OMG! moments, but it's overdone here for sure. Another problem I see is the AI always pins after they hit their signature move. This isn't a big problem since the superstars do it a lot in real life, but the AI does it literally every-single-time after a signature---there is no variation to the process at all. It's like AI is programmed like this: "punch-grapple-grapple-punch-punch-grapple-grapple-signature-pin-do a few more moves OR destroy announce table-finisher-pin". It isn't just end-of-match AI that needs an overhaul either, there are plenty of "main event" matches that need fixing too. For instance during ladder matches, the AI will take down the ladder and try to hit the user with it, even though it might be the end of the match and the user could be completely beaten down, leaving an easy victory for the AI if they would just climb the ladder. wwe 13 stf Another thing in this category that needs to be fixed is when the AI chooses to use submissions, particularly on Legend difficulty. Sometimes the AI can end a match, simply because they performed some Breaking Point finisher at a time later in the match that doesn't make any sense; they do it "just because". Submissions also need to be tuned so it is more of a back and forth battle. As they stand now, submissions can really only last up to about ten seconds, and they don't even give the illusion that there is a struggle; it just feels like a process. There are also other small nuances that I don't see the AI do, like performing irish-whips---things like this need to be in the game. Gameplay is crucial for me. A title can have all the game modes in the world, but if gameplay isn't fun then the disk won't last in my disk tray for longer than a month. There is no other answer to this problem than an overhaul to the AI. Sadly, I am not expecting this to be in WWE 14, but if it is not in WWE 15 then this series will get stale real fast. Can anyone else point out some things that you see on TV, but not by the AI in WWE Games?
