WWE 2K15: Everything We Know So Far

9. Mick Foley Isn't Likely To Be Involved

According to a report from Wrestling Inc back in April, the hardcore legend has revealed that it is unlikely that he will be in this year€™s edition of the game franchise, thanks to his frustration with the issue of payment to wrestlers in terms of royalty fees. Foley's appearance was linked to a Legends deal with the WWE, and though he understood the low fees paid for WWE 2K14, they came from a project that saw its developer bankrupted halfway through, and a hasty deal cut with 2K Games. But now, Foley sees any suggestion of low fees as unacceptable, as he told CBS Radio:
"Honestly, I'm probably not going to sign my Legends deal with WWE because I don't think they did the right thing by the guys with the video game. The check was a little low. Last year, there was a bankruptcy, but this year there wasn't. So, I don't see the upside to signing the Legends deal when the carrot isn't there dangling. So, I'm not going to sign my Legends deal."
As he sees it, there is no upside for him to sign the new Legends deal without a big pay day. And it seems like being a playable character just doesn't draw the same desire. Unfortunately for WWE and 2K, Foley's lack of involvement might scupper one of the biggest moments in the Monday Night Wars history, which fans have long wanted as the main focus of the game, following on from last year's 30 Years Of Wrestlemania and the Attitude Era before that. Without Foley, we won't get to see the infamous Mankind Vs Rock championship bout that the WCW foolishly spoiled the result of to win some ratings.
