WWE 2K16: Joey Styles To Call Steve Austin Vs. Mikey Whipwreck

2K16 is taking things all the way to the extreme...

Former ECW commentator Joey Styles took to his Twitter account to announce that he will be calling the Steve Austin vs. Mikey Whipwreck match for the ECW World Heavyweight Championship in WWE 2K16's Stone Cold mode. The news was then followed by a video posted on 2K Dev's Youtube channel. Styles couldn't hide his delight at being included in the featured mode;
"I'M GAME! I'm calling @SteveAustinBSR vs #MikeyWhipwreck's ECW Championship Match at the Arena in @WWEGames@2K16!"

His brief stay in ECW was certainly one of those. Whilst injured, Austin had been fired by WCW supremo Eric Bischoff in the mid 90s but luckily for Steve, Paul Heyman - who managed Austin in his Dangerous Alliance stable a few years earlier - picked up the phone and offered the future WWE Champion the chance to cut promos while he returned the full health. Stone Cold did that under the moniker of 'Superstar' Steve Austin, and would go on to battle underdog Whipwreck for the most extreme title in the world of wrestling in 1995. It's great to see 2K have pulled out all the stops to make sure this match - which, some WWE fans will see as pretty irrelevant compared to what Austin did for Vince McMahon - as realistic as it could possibly be. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LMTGoxlPqnc
